Encarna Palma Buzón holds a degree in Social Work and specialises in Urban Anthropology. She has also completed studies in retail urban planning at ESCODI, focusing on the analysis of the urban economic landscape and its development models.
With over 25 years of experience at the Commerce Directorate of Barcelona City Council, she has led and managed strategic projects aimed at supporting the retail sector, strengthening its competitiveness and consolidating its role as a key pillar of the city. Her expertise in retail urban planning has enabled her to bring together the economic, social and spatial dimensions of retail, recognising it as a driver of social cohesion, community identity and urban vitality.
